CXI Staff Meeting: the Director speaks vol. 6

30. 5. 2025

What was shared at the CXI TUL staff meeting? Stability, 100+ projects, and an invite to Beer with the Director

Things are moving. In May, CXI TUL held its regular all-staff meeting with Director Miroslav Černík. And the outlook is promising — even if a few challenges remain.

The team is holding strong — and growing

Staffing situation? Stable. According to the Director, we’re in a good position — the number of permanent contracts has increased, and the unification of salary scales didn’t result in any pay cuts at CXI TUL. In short: more security for staff, more focus on work.

Over 100 projects. Some reaching for the top

Research activity is on the rise. In the recent period, over 100 projects were submitted, with some exceeding budgets of 60 million CZK. While the DKRVO funding slightly declined, CXI TUL remains one of the strongest performers within the university.

New team leads. And smart restructuring

There have been a few organizational changes, especially within the research groups:

  • VS1 continues without changes.
  • VS2 now has two new department heads — Filip Véle for the 3D Technologies Department and Josef Břoušek for the Vehicle Department. Unfortunately, a head for the Machine Design Department has not yet been found.
  • VS3 has expanded — the new Hardware & Sensors Department is led by Tomáš Martinec, and the Software & AI Department is led by Jindřich Cýrus.

Website as a business card. Career rules as a plan

We’re preparing to launch a new website — clear, modern, and aligned with our current structure and tech. It’s set to go live after a test phase in June. At the same time, a new career framework was introduced — offering clearer guidelines, more transparency, and better visibility for anyone seeking to grow at CXI.

Satisfaction survey? HR leads the way

In the internal survey focused on "support/non-research departments", HR came out on top — followed by OGP and IPA. Thanks to this feedback, the management now has a clearer picture of what’s working and where there’s room for improvement.

From the TUL campus: demolition, parking, phones

What’s happening at the university? The construction of the new E2 building is being prepared — tenders for contractors open in July. Parking has improved, and new IP phones will be installed in the coming weeks. Meanwhile, the Rector’s Office is finalizing a new directive on travel reimbursements.

Green Day. And membership in A-CSR

CXI has joined the Association for Social Responsibility (A-CSR). This means our collaborations with companies and institutions are now even more aligned with responsible business principles — environmentally, socially, and economically. And by the way, you can also look forward to our upcoming Green Day.

Beer with the Director? This year on the disc golf course

This summer’s teambuilding comes with a sporty twist. On June 23, the Disc Golf Tournament will take place at Grabštejn — with beer, fresh air, and a relaxed vibe. It’s the perfect chance to catch up with colleagues outside the office. We’re looking forward to seeing you!

Final word? We’ve got a great team

"What matters is that we have a team pulling in the same direction. The results follow naturally."

Director Miroslav Černík wrapped up the meeting with a thank-you. In his words, CXI is in good shape, full of talented and motivated people. And that’s a combination you can build on — even in a world that’s changing faster than ever.
