Artificial intelligence as a priority - TUL joins national AI platform

2. 7. 2025

The Technical University of Liberec Joins the Czech Artificial Intelligence Association

The Technical University of Liberec has officially become a member of the Czech Artificial Intelligence Association. As the only university from the Liberec Region, it joins a national network of academic and research institutions engaged in the development and application of artificial intelligence in the Czech Republic.

Artificial intelligence is one of the university’s key research directions – spanning faculties, interdisciplinary projects, and specialized research teams at the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation (CXI TUL). It is here that solutions in machine learning, industrial automation, data processing, and predictive modeling are developed.

"We see membership in the association as an opportunity to actively contribute to the development of AI in the Czech context. Artificial intelligence is no longer just a tool – it fundamentally changes how we understand technology, industry, and society. At CXI and across the university, we want to be part of that change," says Jan Kočí, head of the research team focused on system integration at CXI TUL, where AI research is strongly supported.

Joining the association gives the university access to knowledge exchange, new partnerships, and participation in joint initiatives in AI research and application. It is also a confirmation that the Technical University of Liberec plays an active role in shaping the future of technology not only at the regional level but nationally as well.
