Kdy: 26. března 2019 od 10h
Kde: Přednášková místnost - 4. patro CxI TUL.
Lektoři: prof. Ing. Jan Vymazal, CSc.z Czech University of Life Sciences Prague, Department of Applied Ecology.

Constructed wetland treatment systems are engineered systems that have been designed and constructed to utilize the natural processes for wastewater treatment but do so within a more controlled environment. Constructed wetlands may be categorized according to the various design parameters but three most important criteria are hydrology (surface flow and sub-surface flow), flow direction (horizontal and vertical) and type of macrophytic growth (emergent, submerged, free-floating). Different types of constructed wetlands may be combined with each other in so called hybrid or combined systems, to utilize the specific advantages of the different systems. The first attempts to use constructed wetlands for wastewater treatment were carried out in the early 1960s but more attention to constructed wetlands has been paid since the early 1990s. At the moment, constructed wetlands are used to treat many types of wastewater including municipal sewage, industrial and agricultural wastewaters, landfill leachate, runoff waters from the roads, highways, agricultural fields, airports, golf-courses
