AI in industry: inspirational workshop at CXI in Liberec

22. 9. 2023

How to get a head start in technology practice through AI is a hot topic for all of us. Experts from ŠKODA AUTO, the Fraunhofer Institute, CIIRC CTU and CXI TUL shared their unique know-how at a joint workshop at the Technical University of Liberec on Thursday 21 September. CXI TUL has long collaborated with ŠKODA AUTO in many areas - this time we focused on the development and application of machine learning and artificial intelligence principles in component manufacturing.

The programme included a series of inputs on the topic "The use of artificial intelligence in technical practice" and a final joint debate of experts. They shared the latest findings with each other, discussed the practical possibilities of using AI in an industrial setting, but above all motivated and inspired each other.

It was a unique opportunity to meet professionally like-minded people, to deepen their knowledge in the field of AI and to be able to streamline their work. AI is changing our perspective and outlook for everyone (not only) on the technological world.

The main experts in the programme, Mr. Šimek (Škoda Auto), Mr. Hejcman (Škoda Auto), Mr. Kočí (CXI TUL), Mr. Kadera (CTU), Mr. Švarc (Škoda Auto) and Mr. Dementěv (Fraunhofer Institite) shared their experience.
They talked about how to correctly identify suitable application options. Successful examples of AI at Škoda Auto and other manufacturing companies were presented, e.g. how AI works on a robotic line for battery disassembly. The Fraunhofer Institute presented its use of AI in plastic injection moulding, light adjustment or predictive maintenance.
