IA1: Acoustic component

 

A layer of nanofibers with very thin width approximately 0,1mm is able to resonate on its own frequency, therefore absorb lower sound frequencies. Specific layer of nanofibers is dampened by air gap or by regular sound absorbing material.

Advantages of nanofibers in sound absorbing materials
Nanofiber resonance membrane applied on sound absorbing materials increases sound absorbing qualities especially in the lower and middle frequency range.
The second advantage of the nanolayer membrane application on the sound absorbing material is the significant decrease in thickness and/or weight of the product, while keeping or improving its sound absorbing properties.

Benefits of the new technology
Effective sound absorbing material is based on the resonance principle of the nanofibre layer dampened by the absorption layer in order to absorb as much of the acoustic energy in the wide frequency range as possible.

The unique acoustic properties of the nanofibrous layers are given by the great specific surface of the nanofibers, where viscous losses are constantly happening and the ability of the nanofibers to resonate on its own frequency.

The benefit of this technology is predominantly low weight and minimal thickness of the nanofibrous acoustic components with appropriate indentation from the ceiling/wall. This technology is brand new and there are no products on the market with comparable properties.

Application
For the production of nanofibrous acoustic composites we are using our own machine to create nanofibrous layers from the polymeric solution by electrostatic spinning. Based on their knowledge and many years of experience we are offering the possibility to conduct lamination of separate parts of the acoustic components collaboratively with our industrial partners.
