Nano IA3

IA3: Application of the nanolayers with antibacterial and antiviral properties for medical and social facilities

New types of biodegradable nanofibres for covering of difficult to heal wounds presents biologically degradable bandages that can be effectively fix effective bioactive medicinal substances such as anti-biotic, analgesics, corticoids and enzymes.

Siliceous nanofibre properties

• Excellent bio degradability in the wound

• Inert substrate containing only silicon dioxide - nontoxic

• Copies the wound, possible to insert into the deep wound

• Excellent patient tolerance (without skin irritation)

• Changing of the bandage– recommended between 2 to 5 days

• Use – on all septic wounds

• Immobilized antibiotics don’t burden the patient (compared to the using of antibiotics in vitro)

Advantages of the new technology

Using present day methods of healing difficult to heal wounds, the presented methods are bandages with silver, disinfection salve, solutions with antibiotics or under pressure therapy, that work on different principles. Biodegradable dressing is not necessary to remove, because they dissolve into the wound and are absorbed by the body. This application option is not being offered by any similar dressings on the market. This technology is protected by international patents

Application

Possible to apply on difficult to heal wounds such as a new type of dressing material with these types of medicine:

• Antibiotics

• Disinfection substances

• Analgesics

• Corticoids

• Enzymes

Application of the nanofibres:

The wound is dressed by the siliceous nanofibres with tied up biomolecule (for example antibiotics). The nanofibres are then left on the wound (copies the wound) or inserted into the wound. Nanofibres are then covered by a wet dressing (for example the hydrocoll dressing) and left for 2-3 days to function. The wound creates a macroclimate which is very effective in bacteria liquidation and gradual release of antibiotics, improving the speed of recovery. This method meets the most modern requirements for wet wound healing.
