Short description: This project focuses on separating enantiomers, which are molecules with the same chemical formula but exist as two mirror-image forms that cannot be superimposed. These forms, called enantiomers, have identical chemical and physical properties but interact differently with other chiral molecules. Chiral analytes are significant in fields like chemistry, biochemistry, and especially pharmacology. In pharmacology, enantiomers can have drastically different effects. For example, one enantiomer of a drug may be therapeutically active and safe, while the other could be inactive or even harmful. Therefore, separating and studying these enantiomers is crucial to understanding their effects and ensuring that drugs are both safe and effective. Years: 2025-2027. (The Czech Science Foundation).

Description: Access to safe drinking water and sanitation remains a global challenge, with the Global South particularly affected. By 2040, 1 in 4 children will face extremely high-water stress due to overuse, population growth, and climate change. The NEUTRAL4GS project brings together six academic institutions, one SME, and one water utility from the EU and the Global South to address this crisis. Using co-creation and co-design strategies, the project aims to develop and test nature-inspired urban water management solutions. These include treating various urban water types (stormwater, greywater, wastewater) with innovative technologies such as membranes, nanofibers, and graphene-based nanocomposites, focusing on sustainability and reuse. Description: Nanofibers are an emerging field with applications in filtration and pharmaceuticals. The project aims to create a network of excellence in the field of nanofibers in the V4 countries involving three respected academic institutions and industrial partners. The planned activities include a conference and a workshop with industrial experts involved and researcher mobility between the three countries. Years: 2023-2024
