Taiwanese company Autoland donates drape production lines

19. 9. 2023

Autoland from Taiwan provided significant assistance to the Czech Republic at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic by donating production lines for the production of protective drapes. This production line is now at the Technical University of Liberec, where it will be used for research and education. Yesterday, therefore, an honorary visit of Autoland representatives, namely Mr. Kuo Li-Lin (CEO) and Mr. Robin Du (consultant), took place at the Technical University of Liberec. They visited the modern laboratories and agreed to cooperate in research and development of semiconductor technologies.

"I am pleased that we have acquired these two production lines and can operate them here at the Technical University of Liberec for research and teaching purposes. Everything was facilitated by our partner company GoodMask, which originally took over these lines from Autoland and successfully produced protective masks on them during the pandemic. The lines are now located at our Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovations at TUL and will be operated for educational and research activities," said Adam Blažek, Director of Industry Relations at CXI TUL.

The cooperation between Autoland and the Technical University of Liberec does not end with the handover of the production lines. Thanks to the personal initiative of the Vice-Rector of TUL, Kateřina Maršíková, an extended cooperation with Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST) has been agreed, which will enable the exchange of students and researchers between the two universities.

Representatives of Autoland are also in favour of expanding cooperation in the field of research and development of semiconductor technologies. Mr. Kuo Li-Lin and Mr. Robin Du visited several research laboratories at CXI TUL. They paid great attention to the Nanospider, whose operation was demonstrated by Mr. Michal Komárek. They also visited the FEMTONANO research group working with lasers, led by Rafael Torres. They also visited with interest the microscopy laboratory led by Pavel Kejzlar.
