Life4ZOO project partners meeting
6. 11. 2024
On 29-30 October, CXI TUL hosted a meeting on the Life4ZOO project. The project changes water management at the Liberec Zoo, where a unique artificially constructed wetland is being created to serve as a vertical root wetland. The circular system will allow the zoo to reuse water. The new feature will save almost 50% of the current water consumption.
CXI collaborates with the technology company Photon Water, the Spanish universities of Barcelona and Girona and the Barcelona Zoo on the project. The meeting included presentations of the first results of water monitoring and a tour to the zoo's water recirculation system, where Czech and Spanish experts shared their experiences in sustainable water management.
Participants presented data that will help improve recirculation processes and support sustainable zoo operations. The results of the project represent an important step towards more efficient and sustainable water management in zoos.
For those interested in the project there is a Facebook group Life4ZOO.
The Life4ZOO project now has a video trailer, which gives a brief overview of the project. You can watch it on the Life4ZOO YouTube page.
