Project:
Mitigation of eutrophication with an impact on the biodiversity of importantwater bodies in the Liberec Region
Realization period:01.01. 2022 – 30.04. 2024
Leader at TUL:Ing. Tomáš Lederer, Ph.D.
The subject of the project is to address the issue of uncontrollable excessive growth of algae and cyanobacteria due to intense eutrophication of surface waters, especially in summer and the subsequent deterioration of the valuable properties of these water bodies, significantly the increase in phytotoxin concentrations. Excessive development of cyanobacteria directly disrupts the typical biodiversity of surface waters, especially reservoirs with long retention times. The aim of the project is to demonstrate examples of good practice and technological transfer in the field of water reservoir management affected by the issue of excessive growth of algae and cyanobacteria.
