Development of remotely controlled unit for determination of activated sludge volume at WWTP

One of the critical indicators to control the operation of the activation plant is the sludge test, where a sample of activation water is taken into a 1000 ml graduated cylinder and the volume of sludge settled is assessed after 30 minutes. Based on this value, the ratio of return sludge to excess sludge is then adjusted. The aim of the project is to automate this test so that it can be fully controlled from the PLC without the need to physically visit the WWTP.
