This is a 2.5 year research on an acoustically hybrid semi-open box, which is expected to exhibit sufficient sound absorption and insertion loss along with acoustic field diffusivity. The output should be a prototype of an acoustically variable, semi-open mobile "partition" to provide noise comfort in semi-separated spaces, in addition to a variant with an antibacterial function for application in special spaces. A phased research design from functional samples to prototype should resolve all technical, especially manufacturing uncertainties. TUL/CxI will plan the experiments in the execution of the project, together with the other co-investigators, ensure the production of nanofibres from different polymers, solve the adhesion of the individual components and verify the acoustic characteristics under laboratory conditions.
