Project:
Protective textiles against CBRN substances based on nanofibrous structures with incorporated sorption materials
Registration number:VB02000089
Realization period:01.01. 2024 – 31.12. 2026
Leader at TUL:Ing. Mgr. Lukáš Dvořák, Ph.D.
The project is focused on research of composite polymeric nanofibrous textile materials, which are modified by a unique technology of spraying of granular materials. Using this technology, granular materials such as activated carbon, modified clays or metal oxides will be incorporated into the interfiber spaces of the nanofiber fabric. Incorporated materials are characterized by excellent sorption capacity or the ability to efficiently capture specific molecules. This, together with the extremely large surface area of the nanofiber structure, which also has a barrier function against viruses and bacteria, will enable the preparation of textiles with high absorption capacity against CBRN substances with unique potential for use in protective clothing for rescue services and military.
