Project:
Development of biodegradable aquatic bioplastics for use in inland fisheries in the Polabí region
Realization period:01.06. 2024 – 31.05. 2026
Leader at TUL:Ing. Martin Seidl, Ph.D.
The primary objective of the project is therefore to develop biodegradable plastics suitable for applications in aquatic environments. These newly developed materials must be fully resistant to the environment for a defined period of time and after the end of the product lifetime (3 to 5 years), the biodegradation process should start. The main motivation and intention is to ensure that these products do not constitute a burden on the environment in the longer term (20-30 years). The application suitability of these biodegradable plastics will be verified on bait prototypes with innovative designs optimised according to functional and technological requirements, taking into account the specific properties of the newly developed materials and the required product lifetime.
