Project:

High efficient antimicrobial filters for rail vehicles air condition and ventilation.

Registration number:CL01000158

Realization period:01.01. 2024 – 31.12. 2025

Leader at TUL:Ing. Jakub Hrůza, Ph.D.

The aim of this project is improvement of air filtration process related to spread of droplet infections in ventilation and air conditioning of cabins of rail means of public transport. The recent COVID-19 pandemic revealed need for ensuring passenger safety in public transport. Therefore is this project dedicated to development of composite filtration unit with high filtration efficacy and antimicrobial activity. The textile composite filter with nanofibres will be able to catch small dust particles (min 75 % of PM2,5 according to EN ISO 16890), droplets, bacteria, viruses and fungi. Due to the antimicrobial modification it will be able to prevent proliferation of bacteria in filter structure, which will increase the filter viability and passenger protection from infection spreading.

This project is funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic
