Project:
ENHANCING BIOELECTROCHEMICAL SYSTEMS(BES) THROUGH NANOMATERIAL FOR SUSTAINABLE WASTEWATER TREATMENT, ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AND MONITORING
Registration number:SEP-210970455
Realization period:01.01. 2024 – 31.12. 2026
Leader at TUL:doc. Fatma Yalcinkaya, Ph.D. M.Sc.
NanoBES project aims to jointly share the state-of-the-art and develop strategies for the sustainable wastewater treatment, environment protection and monitoring while harvesting energy from organic waste. With international consortium of partners that has tremendous experience in bioelectrochemical system, we aim to share our knowledge and collaborate to force breakthroughs in the propagation of green energy production, environment protection and monitoring, setting new microbial fuel cell (MFC) system. Moreover, it is aim to enhance the research direction of widening country, educate researchers and administrative employees.
The project will bring together a skilled and interdisciplinary network to identify environmental protection and monitoring as well as sustainable wastewater treatment while producing energy. NanoBES will utilize the available networking tools to jointly share the state-of-the-art, to identify knowledge gaps, to develop collaborative strategies to fill these gaps, and to synthesize and review this knowledge in order to: i) construct a nanomaterial-incorporated MFC that utilizes wastewater as a source for electrochemical energy, while simultaneously ensuring effective water treatment; ii) protect the environment and monitoring; and iii) bridging scientific disciplines' knowledge, evidence, and experience, and bringing international research groups together to increase knowledge exchange between participating institutions.
