The aim of this project is improvement of air filtration process related to spread of droplet infections in ventilation and air conditioning of the bus space for passengers. The recent COVID-19 pandemic revealed need for ensuring passenger safety in public transport. Therefore is this project dedicated to development of composite filtration unit with high filtration efficiency and antimicrobial activity. The antibacterial effect of bacteriophages, which will be incorporated into nanofiber structures, will be used to suppress the spread of infections and bacterial resistance. The textile composite filter with nanofibres will be able to catch small dust particles (PM1 according to EN ISO 16890), droplets, bacteria, viruses and fungi.
