Project:
Research of electro-nano-bio-remediation methods for remediation of waters and soils contaminated with PFAS
Registration number:SQ01020350
Realization period:01.01. 2025 – 31.12. 2027
Leader at TUL:Ing. Jaroslav Nosek, Ph.D.
The aim of the project is to develop and verify innovative methods for in-situ remediation of PFAS contaminated water and soil through on-site pilot tests. The methods for water remediation will mainly focus on biological processes efficiently supported by electro-nano-chemical and electrokinetic processes. Soil remediation methods will use electrokinetic processes with controlled dosing of reagents for PFAS desorption from the rock matrix, concentration and subsequent removal. On-site pilot tests with real contaminated water (or soil) represent an effective approach at a scale close to the real site under defined conditions without interfering external influences making it difficult to interpret results and describe mechanisms in a comprehensive manner. The technology will have wide implementation potential in the national and international remediation market.
