Project:
Vývoj inovativní technologie chemické oxidace perzistentních organických polutantů in situ s využitím odpadních materiálů jako aktivátorů
Registration number:SQ01020205
Realization period:01.01. 2025 – 31.12. 2028
Leader at TUL:RNDr. Jan Němeček, Ph.D.
The project aims to develop two technologies combining low-cost oxidizing agents, such as hydrogen peroxide and sodium/potassium persulfate, with waste-based activators for in situ remediation of aquifers contaminated with persistent organic pollutants (POPs). The project will focus on two main POPs groups: new pollutants (pharmaceuticals, endocrine disruptors, polybrominated and polyfluorinated substances) and old POPs (chlorinated substances like PCBs and chlorinated pesticides). The project's results will be used in the Czech Republic and Western Europe, and in Ukraine's post-war recovery, particularly for removing PCBs from bombed transformer stations. Within the project we plan to file four utility models.
This project is funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic
