Project:
Sustainability of biodiesel production with decreasing quality of input fats
Registration number:FW12010282
Realization period:01.03. 2025 – 31.12. 2027
Leader at TUL:doc. RNDr. Michal Řezanka, Ph.D.
The goal of the project is sustainability of biodiesel production with decreasing quality of input fats. Technologies that are not yet part of the biodiesel production process in Temperatior will be used, and technologies that are already part of the plant will be optimized. Newly implemented technologies include filtration and use of a tricanter within acid refining. This should remove solid contaminants and natural emulsifiers. Then there is the chemical processing of undesired amides and their conversion to biodiesel. Regarding optimized existing technologies there is modification of the distillation to maintain maximum allowed sulfur content in the final product. Removal of solid particles, maintenance of sulfur concentration and increased yield are main measurable parameters.
