Development of materials and technology for the treatment of power cables

The aim of the project is to develop new fireproof materials and their implementation into energy cables. The basic prerequisite is the development of such materials with specific physical and mechanical properties that can be added to the mixture for preparation of the cladding. The expected output of the project is a mixture of chemicals, which can be introduced into the existing production technology, eg in combination with the surface treatment. The partial output of the project is an impregnating emulsion, which creates a protective barrier layer on the surface of the treated material increasing its fire resistance. Such a treatment can significantly increase the quality of electrical cables with regard to their functional properties, lifetime and above all safety.
