Realization period:01.01. 2021 – 31.12. 2023

Leader at TUL:Ing. Jakub Hrůza, Ph.D.

The aim of this project is the development of antimicrobial filter materials with a wide range of applications, but primarily as HEPA filters for air conditioners. Currently, the world is affected by the Corona virus pandemic, which is most prevalent in public buildings with a high prevalence. This includes all offices, hospitals, restaurants, shops and supermarkets, schools, theaters, etc. A large part of these buildings have air conditioning, in which microorganisms causing a number of diseases, including COVID 19, can multiply. Many experts have already warned of this risk. This can be solved by implementing special HEPA filters containing antimicrobial nanofibers and submicron fibers, which capture and effectively eliminate microorganisms.

This project is funded with state support from the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Czech Republic under the TREND Programme.
