Project:

National Centre of Competence Acoustics and Vibration

Registration number:TN02000099

Realization period:01.01. 2023 – 31.12. 2027

Leader at TUL:prof. Ing. Václav Kopecký, CSc.

The project will focus on linking academia - research institutes involved in research in the field of acoustics and vibration with partners from industry and technical practice who use knowledge from the same field in their activities (development, production, quality control). Acoustics (noise propagation) and vibration (flutter) are closely interlinked disciplines where it is often appropriate to address specific research tasks in a complementary way. This is the main reason why the two disciplines are linked in the project. In the broader context and trend of recent years, knowledge from the subject fields has a significant multidisciplinary overlap from biomedicine (hearing research), transport, electronics (voice control), energy (thermal engineering) and last but not least into modern engineering. In the field of vibration, then, beyond the disturbing effects on humans, research has a direct impact on the durability and sustainability of products. The project proposal is based on this multidisciplinarity. The primary focus of the research will be on modern approaches to minimise the negative effects of noise and vibration on humans, whether in the form of design of protective equipment, reduction of noise from transport equipment, reduction of noise from electrical and electronic equipment, research on the interface between humans and technology, thermal equipment (noise from heat pumps), but also on the impact of vibration on product durability and reliability. The project involves partners whose main activities fall within the above-mentioned segments of the project plan. The research organisations will then, in line with the project's scope, form the knowledge support, provide their infrastructure, share their high potential knowledge and guide the application partners through the whole project to the end result.
