Retention growing bed

The aim of the presented project is the development of growing bed (base material placed in agricultural or reclaimed soil) from a composite material based on natural polymers, the primary function of which will be to retain moisture in the soil. Another feature will be the attractiveness for the multiplication of earthworms and soil bacteria, the content of printed simple humidity and temperature sensors. The composite will be completely non-toxic and biodegradable thanks to the use of plant waste and other natural substances. We will supply the required properties using nanotechnologies, green chemistry and special surface treatments. Project outputs will be publishing activities, patent, functional sample, international seminar, and popularization of the project through (social) media.
