Project:
The research and development of moulds for shape complex thin-wall zinc alloy castings with the support of Industry 4.0 and additive technologies
Registration number:FW06010330
Realization period:01.01. 2023 – 31.12. 2026
Leader at TUL:Ing. Jiří Šafka, Ph.D.
The aim of the project is R&D of moulds´ functional parts made of Dievar material in the field of shape complicated thin-walled zinc castings using modern technologies of additive manufacturing, heat and surface treatment, numerical simulations including verification in operating conditions. Another objective is to use simulation and numerical models for the design of topologically optimized mould design with respect to mould weight reduction and energy consumed during production. Another benefit of the project is the testing of laser and TIG welding of a mould part made of Dievar material, which is suitable for mould repair. This new knowledge will allow not only to reduce energy and material consumption but also to develop and operationally validate a unique concept of shaped moulds.
