On Tuesday 20 June 2023, a presentation of The European Digital Innovation Hub Saxony in Dresden took place, including a tour of their #IIoT lab and an introduction to current projects and the companies and start-ups involved. This event was a direct follow-up to the three-day (20-22 June) networking festival Silicon Saxony 2023, which mainly showcased local companies and technologies. Representatives from CXI TUL and ARR were there and actively presented the innovative technology solutions we provide.
The European Digital Innovation Hub Saxony focuses on the development and implementation of intelligent systems and technologies for the Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT). Its presentation offered a unique opportunity to gain insight into the world of innovation that can fundamentally impact the industrial and technology sector.
"Managing big data is one of the key challenges of today's digitalisation. At the Technical University of Liberec, we focus on innovative approaches and methods for processing data generated in production processes. Manufacturing always generates large amounts of information: by internal processes, people or machine data. And we are concerned with how to extract added value from this information and data," says Ing. Jan Kočí from the Institute for Nanomaterials, Advanced Technologies and Innovation (CXI) at TUL.
The tour of the #IIoT lab was followed by an #EDIH Workshop entitled "Manufacturing. Data. Value Creation". which focused on addressing the challenges of managing large amounts of data. Ing. Jan Kočí from CXI briefly introduced the European Digital Innovation Hub of the Liberec and Hradec Kralove Region (hereafter referred to as EDIH NEB) and the areas whose solutions the team of the Technical University of Liberec together with other partners offers, then he focused in detail on the topic of data processing and related problems. Discussions on the topic and the opportunity to establish cooperation with representatives of research institutions and innovative companies took place in the framework of the so-called roundtable.
The active participation of EDIH NEB representatives at the event organised by EDIH Saxony was a great example of mutual cooperation and networking of the European digital innovation hubs network, of which TUL is a part as a partner of EDIH NEB from 1 May 2023. presents plans for deepening mutual cooperation Ing. Zdeňka Doležalová from ARR.
The European Digital Innovation Hub Saxony and Silicon Saxony 2023 presented an important platform for the presentation and exchange of ideas and innovations in the field of technology and data. The event allowed experts from the technology ecosystem on both sides of the border to make new contacts and broaden their understanding of the industry.
