The Technical University of Liberec (TUL) and Prusa Research support education in the field of 3D technology. The FabLab in Liberec is now part of the Prusa Education network, which educates secondary school teachers in 3D technology. The FabLab is an innovation centre that will now offer teachers specialised training that will not only enhance their practical skills in 3D printing, but also show them how to effectively integrate the technology into the classroom and foster students' creativity.
The Technical University of Liberec is one of the leading academic institutions in the Czech Republic with its research in the field of 3D technology. Prusa Research is the Czech market leader in the production and sale of 3D printing equipment and accessories. Together they are therefore joining together for the future of 3D printing in education.
"The Technical University of Liberec and Prusa Research are known for their pioneering work in the field of 3D printing. Our long-term cooperation aims to make the Czech Republic a leader in this technology," says Jiří Šafka, Head of the 3D Technology Department at CXI TUL.
"FabLab will not only be a place where technical skills are trained. It is a space where teachers will be able to be inspired by the latest trends in additive technologies and bring this inspiration directly into their classrooms. Educating the next generation in a fast-growing field like 3D printing is key to preparing students for the digital age. Our FabLab in Liberec is therefore the ideal place to share knowledge, experiment and discover new ways technology can change the world around us," adds Jiří Šafka.
FabLab will also become a place for the development of new projects. For example, Trilab, a major partner of NCK P3D, focuses on advanced 3D printing technologies and materials. Its CEO, Vojtěch Tambor, is actively involved in discussions about new opportunities for collaboration that could lead to further innovations in this area. Their clever solutions and use of high-performance materials could significantly push the boundaries of what is possible in 3D printing.
The Technical University of Liberec and Prusa Research have long been working together as partners and major drivers of the National Centre of Competence for Industrial 3D Printing (NCK P3D). This consortium brings together more than 27 partners focusing on sustainable materials, efficient technologies and digital production and contributes significantly to the development of additive technologies and their practical use in industry.
TUL's Jiří Šafka adds: "Collaboration with Prusa Research and other partners such as Trilab is key to developing new knowledge in 3D printing that we can pass on not only to our students but also to the wider community. The FabLab is where new innovators and engineers will emerge to take the industry forward."
The FabLab will enhance the educational opportunities for teachers, but also contribute to the overall advancement of 3D technology in the Czech Republic.
