Enhanced In Situ Bioremediation for Contaminated Land Remediation
|
Project Annotation:
The EiClar project team consists of 18 partners from Europe and China, with Ecole Centrale in Lyon as the main coordinator. The EiCLaR project focuses on research and development of bioremediation technologies for in-situ remediation. The aim is to develop industrially applicable technologies that enable the rapid and efficient (both technologically and economically) removal of contamination from the rock environment (chlorinated solvents, heavy metals, hydrocarbons). The project focuses mainly on the following technologies: electro-nanobioremediation, monitored bioaugmentation, bioremediation and enhanced phytoremediation. The aim is to extend the scope of their applications to industrial sites containing complex mixtures of pollutants with high concentrations. EiClar's methods will lead to environmentally sustainable technologies with minimal negative impacts, and the results of the project will be made available to a wide range of professionals (researchers, site managers, developers, procurers, service providers and remediation technology providers) throughout the EU and China.
