Microorganisms, widely distributed in nature, interact efficiently with metals through different mechanisms including biosorption, intracellular accumulation, biomineralisation, oxidation/reduction, and chelation. These metal microbial interactions processes, affect the behaviour and fate of these inorganic contaminants, and presented different industrial applications. For instance, using different electron donors, microbes are able to reduce precious ionic metals (Pd, Pt, Au, Ru, Se) producing monometallic/bimetallic nanoparticles (NPs) with different size, shape and atomic structures. These biogenic nanostructures could be used as catalysts for different chemical reactions (Pd, Ru, Pt, Au NPs), as antimicrobial activity (antibiotic alternatives against infectious diseases, SeNPs, AgNPs, etc.), in electronic industries, etc
