The recent development in nanotechnologies and nanomaterial synthesis allows the construction of rigid materials with varieties of physico-chemical properties and their usage in multiple industrial, research and clinical applications. Many of the applications help to protect human and environmental health by preventing spread of the diseases or environmental contamination. The specific nanomaterials were just recently developed and used to prevent spread of COVID 19 (nanofibers in respirators), to inhibit transmission of malaria by mosquitos (nanomembranes in uniforms) or to minimize release of contaminants in industrial effluents (nanocatalysts at WWTP).
